Acetete found in a Box of Bill Haley related 45rpms

Unknown Killer Rockabilly Acetate  - 1 Guess title is Growl Cat Growl
Found in a box of 45rpm in Philli (PA)
"came across quite a few blank demo acetates.
They are mixed in with arcade, arzee, clymax, essex and skyrocket label records". Sent to me by a record collector Ideas on Artist Band year of recording please? Guess it must be Members of Bill Haleys Comets playing on this? There are NO matrix numbers or markings on the wax.

Sounds Like Bill Haleys Comets trying to get the Carl Perkins Sound. Maybe recorded around the time Honey Don't was big?

  1. My best guess is Rusty Wellington. He was active in Philadelphia during the 1950s (like Bill Haley) and also recorded for Arcade, in which Haley was involved too. Wellington cut a slew of great rockabilly sides, some of them remained unreleased however.

  3. Maybe the title of Acetate 1 is 'Prowl Cat Prowl (Saturday Night Is My Night To Prowl)' ? I agree it sounds a lot like Rusty Wellington.
