Note : Cathay is unusual in that even through it had a lot of issues it was not a record label as such. Kathay Whitney was the President. Located in San Francisco Calif.  She offered a custom service where she designed the label & phoned the pressing plant to order the pressings & added the music to one of her publishing company to register the song. The artist did the rest. The client paid for recording mastering locally & once the records were  ready, collection distribution promotion. This is why there are so many location for Cathay. So Cathay was an imprint operated via the publishing company which allowed artist to use the name & numbering series for a fee.
