The records where hard to date. Corrections additions welcome as there is little if any info on this label that seems to have operated as a custom operations out of Midwestern recording studios & used various numbering series & pressing plants.

Wow this was an eye-opener: a label that was around for so long that I never heard of. Not everything great but a decent amount of nice additions and I never knew the Tam's 1963 ABC LP cut of 'Close to Me' was re-released 3 years later on Central. A true education
ReplyDeleteI'm Guessing my date is wrong on the Tams. Central was a recording studio who released their own recordings. issues are hard to date. It may have come out 1st on Central anybody know?
Delete1) your ordering is generally correct but 4701 and 6001 go between 31420 and 314004.
ReplyDelete2) 101/2 and 103/4 were released between the two 314012s (Max Brown and Rebel Wright). The D- prefix probably refers to Darmotay Enterprises who produced both discs.
3) 58859 is almost certainly a (European?) bootleg/pirate of unknown date. The two titles were both cut by ABC-Paramount on 21/01/64 and released later that year on ABC(S)-481.
4) I sent you a comment about a week ago re Central (NY) - did you receive it?
If it is not published then no?
