During his high school and college days, he hosted a Sunday afternoon Big Band music show on KMMO, “Swinging with Skip.” Throughout the 50s, he operated Jan Studios, a recording studio in downtown Marshall. Skip moved to Orlando, Memphis and Dallas, managing recording studios and teaching with the Recording Institute of America. He ventured into motion pictures and enjoyed a lengthy career as an on-location sound mixer for feature films, TV shows, and commercials. In later years, Skip conducted forensic audio analysis and recovery consulting for law enforcement.
