A student of Vanderbilt Law School, Kenny Marlowe (or Marlow) worked in Nashville as a songwriter, producer, and label owner. He was active in the Nashville scene as early as 1955. Marlowe went into partnership with country singer/songwriter Gary Walker, purchasing Joe Reavis' recording studio around 1958. The studio burned down in 1959, which possibly caused the address change. Waker then went on to work with NRC.
