  1. Monumental! Monumental! Arguably the most important post-war label fully documented from beginning to end. Dozens and dozens of songs that haven't been available for decades, all expertly presented in strict chronological order. This is the greatest gift you have possibly given to serious blues and R&B fans and we are extremely grateful.

    1. And with the fire destroying all the master tapes so much was lost. All the alt or unissued Chess stuff that had not been all ready issued. UMG where stupid not to use a fire prove building. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/06/11/magazine/universal-fire-master-recordings.html
